No one can argue that the end to the Premier League season was remarkable. The scenes following Sergio Aguero’s goal were something that we haven’t witnessed for a generation and those last two minutes might just be the most exciting climax to a season ever – certainly since 1989 when Michael Thomas’ goal gave Arsenal the title with more or less the last kick of the season. Working as we do in a business that deals with selling football it is tempting to view the greatest game in the world just in terms of pounds and pence. It’s that time of year again when people make their predictions for what will happen throughout the year.
Before Christmas I nailed my colours, as it were, to the Manchester City mast – and since I did they have stuttered slightly, losing at Sunderland and drawing at West Brom.
